Haitian Microfinance, Inc. granted $5,000 to Fonkoze for making information available to potential Fonkoze investors. The project is in conjunction with MBAs Without Borders through a Wharton School MBA student.
It is generally acknowledged that lack of investor information is a retardant to market investment in microfinance. This most recent grant is intended to broaden the market for investment in Fonkoze. Fonkoze is generally acknowledged as the leading microfinance institution in Haiti with an ambitious five year goal of extending financial services to over 10% of Haitian families. Haitian Microfinance, Inc. was privileged to participate in the first Haitian Solidarity Conference held in Miami this September. As a result of the conference meeting with Fonkoze’s supporters, directors and employees, Haitian Microfinance, Inc. is enthusiastic about its assistance to Fonkoze.
